Unbelief and God's Perfect Law - Dec 22

Section 469 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) contains a list of the most serious offences. These are not charges that anyone should minimize. They are included below:

469. Every court of criminal jurisdiction has jurisdiction to try an indictable offence other than
(a) an offence under any of the following sections:
(i) section 47 (treason),
(ii) section 49 (alarming Her Majesty),
(iii) section 51 (intimidating Parliament or a legislature),
(iv) section 53 (inciting to mutiny),
(v) section 61 (seditious offences),
(vi) section 74 (piracy),
(vii) section 75 (piratical acts), or
(viii) section 235 (murder)

God's Perfect Holiness and Man's Sin

The reality is that until we truly repent and turn our lives over to Jesus, we are very much in that category of s. 469 of the CCC. When we are in a state of unbelief, we are that person committing treason, alarming Her Majesty, intimidating Parliament, inciting to mutiny, committing seditious offences, piracy and murder. Understand this is not a case of 'just missing the mark'. It is a serious indictable offence against God to be found in a state of unbelief.

Salvation is by The Sacrificial Blood of Christ Alone

Furthermore it can be found no other way. Not by tithing or perfect church attendance. Not by works or by acts of charity. It is only by the blood and through the blood that a person can be saved from the horrors of hell. God does not joke around when it comes to sin. While God is a God of love, mercy and compassion - and praise Him for that! - God takes His laws, commandments and statutes seriously.

What Must I Do To Avoid Such Condemnation?

For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.
(Romans 2:13)

More to the point, how can you know you're saved? Here are five points to consider.

• Have you laid your pride to rest? If I dare hear pride and self-sufficiency that person is not saved.
  
• Is there a clear distinction between the 'old you' and the 'new you'? If you're still behaving just as the way you were before I would seriously question your eternal destiny.
  
• Have you become wiser and more discerning? A sure sign of salvation is when you are 'locked in' to the mindset of God.
• Do you have a Biblical worldview or a secular one? More to the point, are you able to tell the difference?
  
• Are you kinder, gentler, more merciful and patient with those who constantly test us? A heart of love is a sign that you've been reborn.

If you can honestly answer yes to all these questions you're well on your way to spending eternity with God. Christ is your only hope. Please choose Him today.

I'm always excited when a precious reader leaves a comment. It is a tremendous source of encouragement to me when someone thinks it important enough to address my blog.

Kendra commented on my The Number 666, 777 post the following (I took the liberty of correcting your syntax whilst leaving the grammar intact. I hope you don't mind):

I arrived here because I dreamed of the 777 actually from a dream. Its starts out with a Medusa form standing with in a room and I'm warned not to look or enter or I will turn to stone....but I enter anyway Medusa turns his head away and then I see 777 and I need to remember this such number not sure why.

Kendra, here's two passages that might be of help:

I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.

While dreams are not trite - and far be it for me to trivialize your night visions - I don't place a great deal on what we dream at night. We get out of our subconscious minds what we consciously choose to put into it. A Christian will have visions, a Muslim will have visions, a Jew will have visions and so on. In all cases the dreams they envision are but reflections of the soul (that is, the subconscious) and nothing more.

Your 'Medusa' vision does intrigue me somewhat. I have quoted from the Book of the Revelation because Satan (both real and spiritual) and Medusa (born of Greek mythology) seem to parallel one another. Mind you that's a guess on my part. Perhaps you've seen the number 777 as well as your Medusa symbol somewhere in your travels and this all came together one night. Keep a personal dream diary by the bedside just in case. The Perfect Lie - Aug 9

I've written about this before but I figured it was time to revisit and improve upon the idea.

First Things First

So what's this 'perfect lie' that I write so dramatically about? It is this: That we can please God through our own efforts. Do you want to know the heart of the gospel? Here it is:

Unless you repent, you too will all perish.
(Luke 13:5b)

In the gospel of Luke, Jesus refers to a lost sheep (Luke 15:3-6), the lost coin (Luke 15:8-10) and the well known parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). What do all these stories have in common? That which is of great value has been lost only to be found again.

Unless A Man Repents He Will Surely Die

For some strange and inexplicable reason this sentence has been vexing me recently. It is glaringly obvious that 'I'm a good person' is the reigning pop-culture theology of the day. I often hear such lame excuses as these:

• No need to repent. I'm a good person!
• No need for a Messiah (on a cross). I'm a good person!
• No need to reconcile my faith with the Bible. I'm a good person!
• No need for a (Holy) Spirit-led life. I'm a good person!
• No need to radically change my lifestyle. I'm a good person!
• No need to change my worldly attitudes. I'm a good person!
  
• No need for holiness in word, thought or deed. I'm a good person!

On and on it goes. Seven points have been listed here for your consideration. Truth is there are literally thousands of excuses people employ. The devil loves nothing more than to tell how good a person you are. The Biblical truth is far more sobering:

As it is written:

"There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."

"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
(Romans 3:10-12,18)

This is not a popular message. Never has been and never will be. All those who dare preach it will face all manner of persecution and (sometimes violent) opposition. This corrupt world will hate all those who faithfully remind us of our fallen nature. Yet it must be taught if we are to count ourselves as Christ's disciples.

The Faith of the Foolish

Why does this lie work so effortlessly? For one very simple reason: It appeals to our pride and our overwhelming sense of self-importance. Hell will be filled with good people who've substituted their own piety and religious observance ahead of the sufferings of Christ. Only through Him can we approach the Father:

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
(John 14:6)

Armageddon - Apr 9

With this being Holy Week, I felt it appropriate to discuss Bible prophecy in greater detail. This is a subject that's been on my mind for some time. The word Armaggeddon appears only once in scripture:

Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.
(Revelation 16:16)

Jesus Isn't Coming To Save The World!

I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (Rev 19:11)

The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. The remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
(Rev 19:20-21)

Which Bible Are You Reading?

I'm not talking about the King James Version or the New International Version. There are many who will choose to take issue with what the Bible says about judgement. Lest any individual things God's destructive power is only found in the New Testament, perhaps they should read this:

Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.
(Genesis 19:24-25)

God has not changed from the days of Abraham and Lot. Not one bit. It amazes how people are easily fooled by the 'love gospel'. God is love indeed, Amen to that! But what of His sovereignty and His pure and unsullied holiness? God could neither forgive nor save if He did not rule with absolute and unchallenged authority. His desire for all of us to be like Jesus stems directly from His holy nature. Sadly, few understand or recognize this salient point.

Ten Things You Must Know About Armageddon

• Man's devices (such as the UN) will not stop it.
• Philosophy cannot dismiss it.
• Politics will not prevent it.
  
• It will happen.
• It will be a literal event (just as D-Day or 9/11 was).
• It will be the most destructive day in all of human history.
• It will be unlike any other war or campaign. (Rev 19:13-14)
• No-one will miss its significance.
  
• No-one can slow it down.
• No-one can speed it up.

Anti-Christ's Army

The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.
(Rev 9:16)

It will be sheer stark terror for those who have chosen to follow after the Beast and his False Prophet. Crammed in like sardines, mass panic in the ranks will ensue. With nowhere to go, the real Christ seals their fate.

A parting thought for all those mockers and scoffers out there. You know who you are!

Enter Through The Narrow Gate - Apr 7

Here's some scripture that ought to be familiar to you:

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
(Matthew 7:13-14)

There Are Two Kinds of People in this World ...

Those that divide the world into two groups and those that don't. It's an old joke but a true one. In the above passage, Jesus does indeed divide the world into two distinct groups: The majority on the broad path to destruction and the minority that find the narrow gate leading to life.

What Are The Lineups Like?

So if we choose to approach the narrow gate, are we to be looking at one massive queue? It's likely to be stretching for miles on end, right? Do you want to know the truth? You can walk right through the narrow gate whenever you want. Anybody at any time anywhere can receive eternal life through Jesus Christ. No lineups. No frustration.

Why Do We Miss The Point Of Jesus' Teaching?

Because we base things upon human experience. We've all been in the position of being forced to line up to get in somewhere. We've also had the uncomfortable sensation of wanting to use the facilities when lining up. What excrutiating pain! Becoming a Christian requires no riches, rituals or extensive training. The beauty (and strength) of the Christian faith has always been in its simplicity. Truth be told, the lineups and frustration are found exclusively on the broad path that leads to our destruction!

Devilish Lies

Living for Christ is easy. It's the living for one's ego and gratification that's difficult. Following after God brings patience and eternal life. Living for self creates undue hardship and struggle. That's the true meaning of Christ's teachings. We read the above passage and think 'Why would God make it so hard to find the narrow gate?'. That's exactly what Satan wants you to think. On the contrary, it's the other way around. Finding truth and purpose through the study of scripture is easy. It's the pursuit of fads, notions and other trivia that feed our sensuality (sounds nice, feels good) that gets us into trouble. Enter instead through the narrow gate. It's the only way to saner (and holy) living.

Adolf Hitler - Apr 2

It is a fool who denies the existence and reality of evil as a supernatural source. The very name of the Hitler causes us to shudder. Yet how few of us know of the Nazi occult leanings within its echelons? The religious fervor the German people experienced when hearing Hitler's voice is not restricted to just the 20th century. Beware the Moral Man! - Mar 2

Have you ever wondered why totalitarian regimes find it so easy to recruit? It's amazing how quickly a moral man will become intoxicated by a fleeting whiff of power. Here's a familiar conversation recorded between Jesus and Nicodemus:

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
(John 3:1-3)

What's Wrong With Being a Moral Man?

If the basis of that morality is of the flesh and not of the spirit then we have plenty to worry about. Satan's favorite tactic for damning souls is through telling us how good we are. We then accept such vain flattery without hesitation. But if Satan is telling us how good we are, shouldn't we be suspicious? YES! That's the beauty of the deception. This raw appeal to our ego and our overwhelming sense of self-importance causes us to believe this falsehood. Jesus said 'You must be born again' in His conversation with Nicodemus. If the Devil can convince you of your own goodness then by logical extension you won't pursue that second birth. No second birth, no salvation. No salvation, no chance at eternity being spent with God!

Destroying Magnificently

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' " "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
(Genesis 3:1-5)

Has there every been a more recycled lie than "You will be like God, knowing good and evil."? Look back through history at all the genocides that have taken place. We point to such leaders of men such as the Prophet Mohammed, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. Yet these men were just that, men. How were they able to successfully mobilize their acolytes to execute their evil plans? Simple. Tell these seemingly ordinary men that they are like gods, knowing good and evil. Get an unsaved man to believe that and he will destroy magnificently without batting an eyelash.

Behold! The Moral Man Cometh!

Convinced of his own goodness and morality, the unsaved man (or woman) is putty in the hands of those who dream of war. The 'goodness' that the unsaved man boasts of is a mirage. The humanist model of goodness is a flawed one, based upon what Man believes to be good rather than the absolute sinless purity of God. We are and still remain in this imperfect state. Few are able to recognize this hard truth about our corruption. Many walk around believing in their heavenly citizenship yet having never trusted fully in the perfect sacrifice made at the cross.

Salvation: Now and for Eternity

Did you ever hear or see something and say, 'There's something not right here.' That's called discernment. For the Christian, it is the indwelling of Holy Spirit that warns us of error and convicts us of truth. Without it, we are the proverbial sucker born every minute for every false Christ and false prophet that comes our way. God is not interested in saving you purely for eternity's sake. He wants you to have victory right now! It is the presence and working of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a believer which enables to see things correctly and in context. Our emotions, our intellect, our pride and our instincts will throw us off at every instant. Hence the constant need for divine instruction.

Withstanding the Devil's Wiles

Be not deceived! Satan is doing everything in his power to keep you from trusting Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. There's no way you can resist his lies on your own power. Nor are we encouraged to do so! Only by coming to faith in Christ are we able to keep ourselves safe from dangerous and hurtful doctrines. Don't be a dupe for those evil men who wish to be like a god. Please protect yourself and trust in Him. It's the only way.

Pride, Ignorance, Instinct and Emotion - Feb 25

If there's one positive attribute that can be laid at the Devil's feet is that he's always busy. The ways of Satan is one of corruption and mischief. The world system in place is in ideological synchronicity with the wicked one.

Satan's Prime Task: To Get You Thinking Negatively About God

For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth - the one who accuses them before our God day and night.
(Revelation 12:10)

In a court in any Western nation you have an adversarial system of justice. On one side is the Crown (representing the Queen). The other is a lawyer for the defense. Witnesses are called and the cross examination begins. Most of the time it works. Sometimes it doesn't. A jury may choose to believe a lie or it may reject the truth and so a miscarriage of justice can result. Satan wants nothing more than to get you to distrust God and to place doubt as to the accuracy and the timeless and universal nature of His perfect manuscript, the Bible.

What Human Nature is Really Like

This has and will continue to be a point of contention with the Marxists and the secularists. I do not buy into the argument about the inherent goodness of Man. I say the word 'buy' because I feel I'm being ripped off as one would get sold faulty goods. Human nature is not a pretty thing to behold. Here are four major stumbling blocks that need to be hurdled in order for humanity to progress.

Pride

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
(Philippians 3:7-8a)

Without a doubt, this is the foundation of most sins. The desire to elevate oneself or diminish others is the signature of pride. Racism is pride. So are sexist attitudes. The worst kind of pride is religious pride. Self-sufficiency and smugness are attributes the Devil loves to see in a person. There is no greater religious lie than the idea that we can justify ourselves before God on our own merits. The apostle Paul considered himself justified because of his credentials. Yet when he came to the truth his pride melted away.

Ignorance

Have you ever found yourself in a political discussion? I enjoy a vigorous debate, yet I find myself cringing most of the time at the ignorant opinions being thrown around. The exercise becomes sheer folly as one person dominates with their rhetoric and bombast. The whole point of debate is to allow your peers and equals a chance to counter your argument. As in politics, we are also born ignorant of spiritual things. Our attempts to connect with God (and spiritual matters) apart from the workings of the Holy Spirit is just as equally foolish.

Instinct

Ever jumped to a conclusion? Have you ever made a hasty and irrational decision about someone (or something) only to be later proven incorrect? That's instinct. In layman's terms it's called a knee-jerk reaction. I find myself laughing at the news whenever they have a 'Man on the Street' interview. Most responses are ill-informed and superfluous. I think the only purpose they serve is to boost ratings and make the subject look stupid. We remember all to well the sheepish feeling we had when we made an (usually incorrect) instinctive decision.

Emotion

Our emotions are indeed an integral part of who we are. Yet how often are we led astray when we judge with a corrupt heart? What we feel - and the decisions we make as a result - can have disasterous consequences. A discussion between two adults can be going swimmingly until one gets emotional. The whole exchange rapidly goes downhill from there. The raw appeal to emotion is one we see constantly from entertainers and politicians (Is there a difference between the two?). The Devil uses his proxies to do the same when it comes to relating to our Creator. Any emotion that leads us away from God's love is one to be avoided.

Don't Be A Dupe!

Yet for your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.
(Psalm 44:22)

Now that you've seen the extent of the problem, what are we to do? Nobody wants to be a patsy. Nobody deliberately chooses to follow after a lie that leads to harm. There's a dearth of discernment in this day and age. Like a baseball hitting the sweet spot, there's something to be said about getting it right the first time. If you want the truth - and nothing but - the only true path to understanding is through Jesus Christ. We must be born again! Without the presence and working of the Holy Spirit in our lives we becomes dupes and pawns in this fallen world. There's no other way to enlightenment.

Shutting the Mouths of Demons - Part 2 - Jan 28

A Biblical rebuke for the ignorant:

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
(Matthew 7:3-5)

My good friend Donald is at it again. Listen dude, all three of your most recent comments today have been rejected. Any further comments will also be rejected. So, now that you mock my belief, I shall mock your unbelief.

The Banality of Evil: Mediocrity is the Enemy of Excellence

Donald to me represents the epitome of mediocrity and secular elitist arrogance. Seeing as he cannot rise to my level of spiritual understanding he must therefore try to pull me down. Let me give you a snapshot of a day in the life of my new 'friend':

Drives a mediocre car to a mediocre job and receives mediocre pay. Once his mediocre efforts come to the end of another mediocre workday he drives home to his mediocre house. Upon his arrival, his mediocre-looking wife greets him as he eats his mediocre supper. His mediocre kids go to a mediocre school with mediocre teachers and come home with mediocre grades. After that, they watch mediocre TV programs (Mind you, 'mediocre TV' is admittedly a redundant term.) till evening. After watching hours of mediocre sit-coms he has mediocre sex with his mediocre wife (which in turn produced the mediocre kids). After a minute or two of this mediocre sex he falls off his mediocre wife and goes to sleep, exhausted. Thus mediocrity propagates and perpetuates itself. Now did I miss anything?

Hell is an Atheists Paradise!

Donald, you'll love hell. No nasty Christian bloggers to deal with. No churches will be found there, neither will you find a Bible. It'll be great! All evidence of God's love for you will be swept away. All your earthly efforts and humanist ambitions will be rendered null and void. There will be no-one there to comfort you, not even your mediocre wife and kids. Excruciating pain and mental anguish will be your permanent companions. God will forget that you ever existed. The loss will be total, complete, and eternal. Oh happy times! Hell is the greatest catastrophic loss a man or woman could ever suffer. Maybe hell will have some Lionel trains for you to play with (with the number 666 attached) or a fat cat to kill but I doubt it.

'Your friend in Christ'? You Gotta Be Kidding Me!

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Donald, you are not my friend. Never have been and never will be. It takes a great deal of gall to sign off in such a fashion. Give it a rest, man! If anyone is guilty of being a bully, it's you (see top). A good swift kick to the testicles is too kind a reward for your efforts. Now beat it!

Shutting the Mouths of Demons - Jan 25

A message from our Lord Jesus Christ:

Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
(Matthew 12:25b-28)

Oh, I do love those comments! Please be aware that if you do leave a comment there's an excellent chance I'll publish it (comments do not appear until I've reviewed them first). Comments that are overly long, filled with profanity or hate or just plain unintelligible get the heave-ho. I certainly never started this blog to be a people-pleaser. In my most oft viewed post, The Number 666/777, I appear to have hit a nerve with some people. Which actually is a good thing. Being a Christian is not unlike the life cycle of a salmon. The key difference is salmon swim upstream to their breeding grounds and die, a Christian swims upstream and lives.

Donald, Donald, Donald!

What is it with guys named Donald? They do nothing but create havoc. Thankfully, most are harmless kindred spirits. When you proclaim the Gospel, you'd better be prepared to be a target for knuckleheads. On January the 9th I got this misinformed missive:

A number is nothing to be afraid of, you know. No need to do the whole "sign-of-the-cross" BS if a car with a 666 license plate is in front of you. What's with all the fear and loathing, dude? Have you at least tried giving Satan a shot? It doesn't hurt to at least see what he's all about, right? Sammy Davis Jr. was into Satan for awhile and he came out just fine in the end, right?

I'll give the man some credit. His first two sentences are reasonably intelligent. The whole Sammy Davis Jr. angle was a bit of a red herring. I recovered and countered with this:

The whole 666/777 thing is a manifestation of the spiritual warfare that is taking place in our homes, churches and schools.

Two hours later I got this response from (I assume) the same individual:

You mean, like, ghosts are waging war in my house right now? That's pretty goddamn scary, dude. Do you think I should call someone to meet me at my house before I go in there? (I'm at work now and there don't seem to be any spirits fighting from what I can tell.)

If you don't hear back from me I suppose that means that a spirit ghost got me.

p.s. What is the best way to kill a ghost, anyway? What if one comes up behind me when I'm doing some pottery or something?

Oh Donald, you started off so well! Why then the mocking tone? No way some uninformed dolt was going to one-up me on my own blog. Naturally I responded:

Pick up a Bible (assuming you have one) and read Ephesians 6:12. As for any demonic home infestation, the solution is simple: the shed blood of Christ.

Perhaps I stumped my new friend or he just got tired of the exchange. Either way, the virtual conversation ended. Too bad as I was just getting warmed up! Here's a poignant question: What is the Devil - and those that serve him - afraid of? Certainly not crossed fore-fingers! What scares the Devil is the shed blood of the Lamb and the testimony of His word. That's it. Nothing else will work.

An Important Point to Consider When Studying Bible Prophecy

Maybe you just got started or you've been studying the Bible for years. Don't be fooled! Satan isn't going to run away from you the second you open a Bible! No, he'd rather sit beside you and whisper a myriad of half-truths in your ear as you study God's word. An appeal to raw emotion and your human - that is, fallible - wisdom and experience will be made:

'How does that make you feel?'
'Does that make sense to you?'
'Has there ever been such a thing?'

Bible prophecy has nothing to do with emotion! Satan has not changed since his debut at the Garden of Eden. Neither has his tactics. Satan desires nothing more than to separate a man or woman from the saving truths of His word. Truth be told, much of what is written in God's word strikes me as absurd as well (Rapture? Anti-Christ?). Do I still believe? Yes I do. That's the substance and mystery of faith. Donald has become hypnotized and beguiled by the evil one. So has chrlz (see last comment). Who will have the last laugh? Me or Donald?

The Greatest Lie Ever Told - Apr 21

If the greatest truths are about God, it stands to reason that the greatest lies we face also concern God.

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet

1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.

4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'

5"But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

8"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11"But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.

13"Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

14"For many are invited, but few are chosen."

Let's see if we can figure out what this parable means.

The King: This one strikes me as obvious. This is God the Father. The son is none other than Jesus Himself.

The Invitees: The high muckity-mucks of this world. The 'beautiful' people if you will. In 21st century terms, they'd be the Hollywood celebrities and the political elite. Sadly, their businesses keep them away from God.

The Servants: This one is the most curious of them all. Three times the King sends forth His servants. These are three seperate and unique groups sent out in chronological order:

Verse 3: Those who served God faithfully prior to His First Advent such as the OT prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah.

Verse 4: God's people, the Jews. Don't you find verse 7 terrifying? Yet that's exactly what happened to Nazi Germany in the waning months of WW II (More specifically, think of the firebombing of Dresden). It was God's plan that it would be the Jewish people who were going to spread the gospel. Satan's great plan therefore is to rid the world of Jews because they delivered the gospel to humanity.

Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed." (Isaiah 61:9)

Verse 8-10: Seeing as European Jewry fared poorly, the third set of servants must be Gentiles. These are your pastors, your Sunday school teachers, and (blush) your faithful Christian bloggers.

The Guests: These lucky guests have chosen to accept Jesus Christ as their saviour. However in verses 11 and 12 the King confronts an usurper. Who is this person who has shown up in his old, shabby clothes?

Many Are Invited But Few Are Chosen

Thus verse 14 closes the parable. But we are still left with the question: What is the greatest lie ever told? It is this: We CANNOT stand before God based on our own righteousness. This is exactly what the usurper finds out when he is dramatically given the heave-ho. On the surface, this seems strange to us. After all, Jesus hung out with prostitutes and tax-collectors. Why is our King so enraged at our usurper not wearing the wedding clothes? It is the sin of pride. Not just any kind of pride mind you, it's religious pride.

For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)

Not by our own efforts and by our works do we please Him. When we put on the garments of salvation and robes of righteousness it is only then we are allowed to enter into the banquet hall. By believing in the shed blood of Christ alone do we achieve full atonement.

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (Isaiah 64:6)

When Nations Die - Apr 10

Terrible Times in the Last Days

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

A Nation's Life Cycle

Nations and empires actually do have "life cycles." This has been studied by many historians throughout the years and they all have come to about the same conclusion: a lifetime of about two centuries. And they all seem to go through the same life cycle: "from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependence back again into bondage (Alexander Tyler, 1750)."

Race Relations in 2008

Are we better off now than twenty years ago? There will always be racist and ignorant people out there who will persecute certain racial, ethnic and religious groups without cause. I do not believe however that America (meaning the West) is intrinsically racist. Given that Man's ignorance isn't going away anytime soon, the question becomes 'Do those attitudes represent the fringe or the mainstream?'. In 1911, Booker T. Washington made this statement still eerily relevant today:

"There is (a) class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. … There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

Evolution and Godlessness

Darwinism and Marxism have to be two of the greatest poisons infecting the minds of young people today. Again, I do not profess to be an expert. Heck, I didn't even take biology in university! But I will say this with authority: When God and faith is pushed out, darkness and superstition fill the void. A nation divided (and in rebellion to God's authority) cannot stand. When evolutionists resort to stormtrooper tactics to shut down debates on intelligient design you know you're in trouble. Genuine scientific debate is dead in modern-day acadamia. 'Toe the line or else' is the threat issued to those who dare suggest that God played a role in our creation.

The Most Offensive Post I've Ever Written - Mar 23

Happy Easter everyone! Thought I'd stir things up a bit:

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

Jesus: The Name That Is Above All Names

Not Mohammed. Not Buddha. Not any Jewish rabbi or sage. Not any other founder(s) of any other religion comes close. Jesus Christ has no rivals:

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Listen up Muslims of the world! It is Jesus and Jesus Christ alone who is fully able to forgive. Mere religion cannot save. I don't care how pious you are. I don't care a whit if you've ever been to Mecca and done your five pillars of faith. Without Jesus you will go to hell. Only He can deliver you from this terrible fate. Yes, you will pay a steep personal price. You may even be killed. But you will have eternal life.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:14-17)

Understand the spirit of Antichrist is very much a part of Islam:

This is how you can recognise the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. The world does not want to hear this business about judgement. Yet I must be faithful to what the scripture teaches. Indeed we are all sinners:

Their throats are open graves; their tongues practise deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips.

A murderer does not go to hell because they murder. Rather, they go to hell because they carry the baggage of unbelief. So too will you suffer the same fate if you carry on in your unbelieving ways. Spiritual Warfare - Aug 9

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12) KJV

In my previous post, I referred to CAIR as using 'brownshirt'-like tactics to intimidate Andrew Whitehead of anti-CAIR. My comparison to the Nazis is not an exaggeration. For the politically immature, the term 'Nazi' is bandied about with such reckless abandon to describe anybody they don't like. However, the meeting between the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Adolf Hitler on November, 28, 1941 is documented proof of Islam's connection with the Holocaust.



For many Christians, the words 'spirituality' and 'warfare' are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth. The most dangerous enemies of liberty and freedom are spiritual in nature. Most of us have little problem with the idea of a material enemy. Slightly fewer understand that we are not merely up against a material enemy, but an ideological one as well. But how many of us truly believe that evil has a supernatural source? How many have come to the conclusion that our enemies are not just material and ideological in nature but spiritual as well? When I look at Stephen Harper, the man knows that our troops are facing a material enemy. He may even have a clue about the ideology that drives the Taliban (that would be Islam). But Mr. Harper has no clue about the spiritual struggle that our troops face daily in Afghanistan, a critical point I've made before.

Speaking of unholy alliances, Muslims of a jihadi persuasion are now teaming up with Mexican drug cartels. The two are after all natural allies. Both seek power. Both share a virulent anti-American ideology. Both share a common enemy in U.S. law enforcement and the FBI. Both are enemies of freedom. My point? The chaos that is enveloping the U.S.-Mexican border do not magically stop at the Canada-U.S. border. Both the drug cartels and the jihadis are also enemies of the Canadian people. It can't happen here? You'd better believe it can.

Please understand me. I do not wish to unduly frighten anyone. However, we must face some hard facts. Spiritual bondage is real. It's not something that exists in rural India, it's in our very own backyard. You don't have to live in bondage or fear. You don't have to be afraid of the headlines we read every day. You don't have to be intimidated by Satan's devices. Freedom from fear can be had in Jesus Christ. That's why we study prophetic scripture. Those who scoff and mock Bible prophecy stand on shifting sands. They have no foundation and they have no hope. But we who live in the light DO have a foundation and a hope. It's my desire for everyone who reads this blog that they truly have this hope that only the God of Israel can bring.

I Got Chills Multiplyin' - Aug 7

It's been an interesting day personally. I just got dumped by three ladies on eHarmony. Nice to see my perfect record of futility is still intact. Truly pathetic I am. Erin led the charge along with two others. Saw a picture of Erin and as it turns out I really wasn't missing much. Hell, it's not like I was expecting a model or anything like that! Oh well, so be it. Fall down ten times and pick yourself up eleven. The end result? You're still standing. Perfect.

So onto my post. Got some air-conditioning going this past week so now I can sleep better without all that horrible humidity that you get in August in lovely Brampton. That however is not the reason for all the chills going up and down my spine. Don't seem to have any theme here so in lieu of an actual thought process I'm just going to lob them at you as I see fit.

Would you be worried if 190,000 AK-47's went missing in Iraq? Isn't that generous of America to accidently arm both al-Qaida and Hamas? What's the bet that some of these weapons end up in Afghanistan to be used against Canadian soldiers? It's foolish and it's reckless. Lose a retaining pin as a CF soldier and you get charged. Lose a 190,000 automatic assault rifles and no-one blinks. There's no oversight needed here! Why bother when you don't have to?

Mark Of The Beast Dep't: Got another article on that whole RFID thingy. This year, RFID was worth $4.96bn. In ten years (2017) that will multiply to $26.88bn. From tagging merchandise to tagging humans is not as big a leap as you might think. The technology for the mark of the beast is already here. All it requires is a huge political shift for that to happen. Once the church is evacuated out of harm's way, there will be no stopping this process.

This Jihad Is Killing Us Dep't: I read this story about some dolt trying to flush a Koran down the toilet. Oh the horror! For the toilet that is. Seriously, if this dude tried to desecrate a Bible (or at least a New Testament) he would've been feted by the Left and pro bono defended by the ACLU (Anti-Christ Legion of Unbelievers). Muslims really do love their state-sanctioned victim status, much to our detriment. And can we ban the burqa and niqab too? Not only do the women look completely daft, it's a known security risk and health issue. Besides, only Johnny Cash was effective in pulling off the 'Man in Black' look.

This Jihad Is Killing Us, Part II: Not just figuratively but quite literally as well. Chauncey Bailey was the editor of the Oakland Post before he was gunned down by an employee of Your Black Muslim Bakery, a jihadi front in the Oakland, CA area. Muslims baking fresh bread is one thing. The trashing of other business and the open display of automatic weapons is another. Should it surprise you that these criminals were aided and abetted by effete leftists? The arrogance and contempt they display towards local law enforcement is galling.

So what does all this entail? Citizens are NOT going to report criminal activity out of fear of reprisal. These Nazi-like brownshirt tactics are having a chilling effect on free speech. We are fortunate that some brave souls such as Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch (watch the HotAir video here!) is not so frightened by the litigation and intimidation tactics of CAIR. God bless him. May there be a thousand more like him.

The Media Of Terrorism And Its Effects

Satan is a busy boy, isn't he? There's no doubt that all hatred of the Jews and Christians comes from the wicked one. From threatening missionaries with death in India, to stirring up jihadi activity in North Africa and in Lebanon (with thanks to Hezbollah), and the constant barrage of one-sided criticism that both Israel and America face every day it's a small miracle that God's work still gets accomplished. God is still sovereign and He's still in control.

Given their situation, shouldn't the Israelis be a dour, pessimistic lot? Yet amazingly, most Israelis are optimists! Amongst the Jews, 83% were happy and 71% of Israeli Arabs reported to be content. When you realize how many Israelis have a loving relationship with your Creator it shouldn't surprise us at all. Now consider the lot of the Palestinians and non-Israeli Arabs: Nothing but poverty and despair! When the light of Jesus Christ is pushed out, darkness and strife abound. So whether it be an individual or an entire nation, being dependent on Him is the surest path to happiness.

I haven't had a sports commentary here for awhile but two items of interest have caught my attention. With the Anaheim Ducks winning the Stanley Cup and the San Antonio Spurs capturing the NBA title (see above photo), it seems to me that there's a paradigm shift: If you want to win a championship, go west or go south.

The second item that caught my attention is the NHL floating the idea that the Nashville Predators may come north to Hamilton if new owner Jim Balsillie has his way. The NHL board of governers will have their say and will move a franchise only as a matter of last resort. Not to suggest that this idea is an impossibility, it isn't, it's just that I see many a Hamiltonian who put down a big chunk of money for possible season tickets slinking back to get their refund. I've seen this before: A well-placed rumor is circulated, everybody gets excited and then nothing happens. I sincerely hope the good people of Hamilton don't get screwed in this.

What Price Freedom? - Jun 2

Well I'm only six days removed from Memorial Day so I wanted to pay tribute to our American friends who've taken the time to visit this site. I've noticed that most of my page views come from the U.S., followed by Canada and our good friends the Brits in third. The fact that these three countries are the ones supporting this blog doesn't surprise me. In free societies, the flow of information is seen as a form of checks and balances, a neccessary bulwark against tyranny. It costs to be free, a fact that few seem to be aware of.

Of great debate is the question 'From where do our freedoms come from?' Does our freedom come as a gift from God or is it ceded to us by our governments? The great presidents (Reagan being the most recent) knew in their hearts that freedom came from God. Franklin D. Roosevelt knew what was at stake when the D-Day invasion was launched. Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, the director of MI5, knows the threats Britain faces from its fifth column jihadists. American troops in Iraq know the consequences of failure too. Fascism and crude tribalism (my tribe right or wrong) have always threatened human freedom. Remaining ready to fight is our only hope.

Vigilance is the price we must bear to be free. Yet how many watchmen are out there to warn us of our enemies? One of the primary reasons 9/11 happened was our unwillingness to take the jihadists at their word. We were asleep at the switch on that fateful day and close to six years later we're still asleep. Watching Western civilization self-destruct in slow motion makes for a fascinating study, one I don't want to see the conclusion of.

One of the biggest fronts in this war is being fought in Israel. It amazes me how people accept so uncritically the lies of the enemy and yet send themselves into a frenzy over God's truths. Witness the frenzy over the Abu Ghraib excesses, yet barely a peep is uttered over al-Qaida's torture methods. As I have stated before, there IS no rational reason for this. This delusion that has come into the world is a supernatural one. Think about it for a second: Why do seemingly rational people go ballistic when the subject of Israel (and the Jews) is brought up? All perspective flies right out the window. Satan hates Israel because it is precisely this tiny Jewish nation which stands in his path for world domination. All hatred for the Jews comes from the fallen one. Strip away the clever sophistry and the intellectual posturing and you will find the Devil behind every single Anti-Semite. Believe it!

Russia has just tested a new ICBM, supposedly in response to American plans to put a missile shield in Eastern Europe. Understand that long-range missile tests happen all the time. It just seems a little bit more scary when it's the Russians pulling the trigger.

Corruption in China? You don't say! The locals are getting restless as corrupt party officials deny people their rights. China may talk a big game about democracy but the reality is much starker. The Destroyer of Worlds - Apr 18

Jesus had much to say about the Devil. In John 8:44 we read:

He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Doesn't leave much wiggle room, does it? When Jesus spoke, He spoke with clear authority from the Father. Satan is the father of ALL LIES, no matter what anyone else tells you. We've all fallen a little short and we've all told a fib or two to gain the advantage. Why is this bit of scripture so important? Because Satan is still in the business of telling lies to the world. Satan is also a murderer and uses lies to get others to do his bidding. There is only one innoculation against the lies of the enemy and that is to put yourself under submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit, and only the Holy Spirit, that can give you discernment and see the Devil's lies for what they truly are. Please do this today. Your life here and the life to come is at stake.

By now you have heard of the shooting at Virginia Tech University. Please don't tell me that evil isn't real because it is. Mass murder is something that repells us, an aberration of the highest order. It appears to be the work of a 23 year-old South Korean student named Cho Seung-Hui. I'm actually relieved that there was no Islamist connection although that's small consolation to the families of the victims. In all, 33 victims are dead with many more wounded. I think many a Christian living in Canada bemoans the fact the gay marriage is the law of the land. When you look at the Liberals and the Conservatives do you see any remarkable difference of opinion? I sure don't. Let's face facts here: The gays have won, hands down. Yep, we've lost and they're the victors. Which is not to suggest that they're right; they aren't and they never will be. Look, Satan hates marriage and the church because it was God Himself who ordained the two. So what better way to kill two birds with one stone than to introduce this? The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams faces a real schism between the more liberal churches in the West and the conservative Anglicans from Africa. Make no mistake, this is a real problem and Satan delights in the idea of causing divides in the global church. Satan despises the family and children too. In Germany, homeschooling is under assault. A 15 year-old teenager named Melissa Busekros has been separated from her family and placed in the psychiatric ward because her parents decided to home-school her. The message to Christian families from our secular gov'ts is both crude and simple: The state can do a better job of raising your kids than you can. I mean this stuff reads like a horror novel! You should also read Faith Girl's post about finding a high school for her little ones and the trials she's enduring.

Not only is the church being undermined from within, it is being attacked from without as well. You can read about two pastors being assaulted with full complicity from the police in Madhya Pradesh, India. Or you can read about Assyrian Christians in Iraq being forced to convert to Islam or be killed. Don't be deceived. Islam was spread by the sword during Mohammed's time and is still being spread by the sword.

It should also come as no surprise that Satan hates the Jews and the nation of Israel most of all. As I reported last summer, Israel's latest war with Hezbollah left them intact. Because of this foolishness, I fear that there will be an even bigger and more destructive war later on this year. The lies that Hamas and Hezbollah tell their people are so transparent and downright laughable if not for the seriousness of the situation. So what they do is make every single preparation for war and when Israel decides to take action, they turn around and claim 'Israeli aggression'! The air is thick with their bullshit. Only a complete moron would believe even one percent of what Hezbollah readily provides to an all too gullible (and liberal) MSM.

In other news, it's been reported that Johnny Cash's home in Tennessee recently burnt to the ground. Turns out there is a God after all as Bee Gee Barry Gibb was set to take up residence in Cash's old home. Lemme see: Folsom Prison Blues vs. Stayin' Alive. Which song would you prefer?

Also from K-House you can read about the recent fraudulent claims about Jesus' supposed grave in Jerusalem. Keep in mind that Jesus and His earthly family where from Galilee, which is way north of Jerusalem. It is highly unlikely that a poor Galilean family would have a grave in Jerusalem. It must be noted here that the Talpiot grave is not a new discovery but one that was known to Israeli archaeologists since 1980!Consider also the fact that names like Mary, Jesus, Judas and Joseph were common names in use during our Saviour's earthly ministry. So yes, my faith in the resurrection is still alive and well.

The last Sunday of January, a US helicopter was shot down a few miles north of the Shiite holy city of Najaf . It was just two days before the Shiite high holy day of Ashoura, and the 600-700 man Islamic "Army of Heaven" was gathered, ready to mingle with the crowds and blow up as many pilgrims and clerics as possible. The "Heaven's Soldiers" believed their leader was the 12th Imam, or Islamic messiah, and planned to present him to the world on that Tuesday.

Shooting down that helicopter, though, might have been the worst decision the Army of Heaven made for their cause. A certain group of about 50 U.S.-backed Iraqi forces just happened to be in the area, and, going to the rescue of their friends in the helicopter, they ran smack into the middle of the cult army. The fighting that followed was so heavy that, "if you put your finger up in the air, it would get blown off," as one US soldier put it. The tiny Gideon-like band of Iraqis and Americans battled valiantly, though, and by the time reinforcements got in, they had killed at least 200 of the enemy. Another 60 of the enemy were wounded and 100-150 were captured. The cult's Imam was also killed, and the planned terrorist attacks never took place.

On our side, five Iraqis were killed, as well as the two Americans in the helicopter. One U.S. soldier in the battle that day described his amazement at surviving, saying, "I didn't get a scratch." When it was all done, he and a buddy prayed and thanked God for their lives.

Here's some scripture to put things into their proper place:

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only He who now letteth will let, until He be taken out of the way. (2 The 2:7)

The 'He' being spoken of in this verse is referring to none other than the Holy Spirit. While police and various other security forces still do play a part in foiling evil, ultimately it is the sovereign power of the Almighty that restrains evil. It is nothing short of obscene to believe that we are the ones that is stopping terrorism in its tracks through our own efforts. When the tribulation time comes, people will see terrorism and criminal activity go through the roof. My advice is to avoid that time here on Earth. Turn away from your sins and come to faith in Christ. Trust me, you'll thank me for it later.
