Later in the movie, Bruce asks if they ever caught him. Alfred answers in the affirmative saying, 'We burnt down the forest'. Certainly a high price to pay to catch just one man.

There is indeed rot in our Canadian universities. I consider myself fortunate that I graduated McMaster well before 9/11. The efforts on campus to delegitimize Israel and blame America for those fateful attacks have no doubt skyrocketed since I left. If there's one thing I've learned about anti-semites is this: Not reason, not logic, not even the lessons of history can budge an anti-semite from his paranoid, conspiratorial mind-set. Jew-hatred is implacable. There cannot be peace between those that love God's chosen people and those that wish their destruction.

The 'I Hate Bush' Agenda: The Disturbing Fanaticism of the New Left

In a recent FPM article, the battle to profile terrorists in order to save American lives is one we should all support. Yet, even an attempt to try a more watered-down approach is met with hostility and threats of litigation from the usual suspects (CAIR, ACLU). I can sort of understand their point. Profiling can be abused and given to excess. I think the real reason for opposing the profiling of terrorists has more to do with left-wing fanaticism. The assumption of a 'vast, right-wing conspiracy' led by the President is a pet theory the leftists are loathe to surrender. As with the evolutionists and the anti-semites, any attempts at reason and logic is met with a brick wall of denial and a closed mind.

Of This I Am Convinced

Though we may suffer for the cause of Christ, I am convinced of the need of those who need God's healing touch. Their struggle may not neccessarily a physical one, it is a struggle that causes lack of discernment. It is God and God alone that gives us true wisdom. Therefore let us not hate our enemies; let us pray for them instead. In the meantime, we need to hold fast and continue to look up for our redemption.

What Is The Bible's Primary Message? - Jun 29

The 'Love Your Neighbor' Command Isn't It

When asked by the Pharisees what the ultimate commandment was (in order to trick Him), Jesus replied:

'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
(Matthew 22:37-40)

While certainly one of the most well known and important of Jesus' teachings, the 'love your neighbor' command is not His central teaching. Whether they be benign or malicious, most people simply miss the plain message of Jesus' ministry.

Is The Bible's Primary Message One Of Salvation?

NO! Atonement through the blood of Christ alone is the secondary message of the Bible. Hear me out: God isn't merely saving us from something (our condemnation), He's saving us for something. What is that 'something' that I'm referring to?

The Coming Kingdom of God (The Prophecy of the Sabbath)

From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."
(Matthew 4:17)

THAT is the primary message of the Bible. Jesus came to preach the coming of His millenial reign right here on Earth. That is what the sabbath is all about. It is the establishment of His throne on the Temple Mount in the city of God (Jerusalem) amongst the people of God (the Jews). Both the Pharisees and the Romans were terrified of Jesus. It was precisely this message of 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near' that got Jesus in trouble with the authorities, not the 'Love your neighbor' bit. His resulting sacrifice upon the cross was always meant to be a (crucial) stepping stone for those that wish to serve Him in His millenial reign.

Bible Prophecy and the Importance of Israel

I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

Another question to ponder: Why such hatred and animosity towards Israel and the Jews? God has a plan to bring the coming kingdom and Satan has a plan to derail it. If Satan can achieve his dream of a Jew-free ME, then God's plan has failed. If God plan succeeds (and it will), then Satan is defeated. All of this is contigent on the survival of the Jewish state of Israel. Satan's murderous plans is to eliminate the Jews from the Promised Land that God originally bequethed to Abraham. Right now it is Islam that is the main conduit of Jew-hatred. Not only will Islam meet it's appointed end, all those who oppose God's plan of redemption will go to their destruction as well.

Salvation is a Means to a Greater End: Eternal Employment and Service to the King of Kings

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Some of you lucky sods out there have a really great job. Some like myself have a decent job that pays the bills but doesn't really rock our world. Others have jobs that they absolutely hate. Now imagine having the the greatest job on Earth. It could be travelling. It could involve artistic creativity. It could be engineering the coolest structures that the mind could conceive. In other words, it would be anything than what you're doing right now. GOD HAS A NEW JOB PERSONALLY RESERVED FOR YOU IN WAITING. It's yours and no-one else's. The unemployment rate in the kingdom of God will be zero. The job and the title that you will receive due to your loyal service to Him will exceed expectations far beyond what your puny mind can imagine. All believers will reign with Christ and be given authority to judge. How exciting! Rejoice, our redemption draws near!

Israel: An Appointment with Destiny - May 18

In the twentieth century, two massive events occurred in May. In 1945, the fall of Nazi Germany ended one of the most destructive wars in all of human history. Three years later on May, 14, 1948, the re-birth of the state of Israel shook the world and foreign governments.

Before we look at Israel's modern day rebirth, we must first look at the three captivities that Israel endured. The first two were regional in nature, the third captivity was worldwide.

The First Captivity: Egypt

Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD's divisions left Egypt. (Exodus 12:40-41)

Here's the best part:

The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians. (Exodus 12:35-36)

To the very day the Israelites were driven out by the Egyptians. There was no escape here, they were pushed out! Moreover, they actually plundered the Egyptians prior to leaving and were laden with gold, silver and clothing. I don't know about you, but this absolutely blows my mind. The exodus happened to the very day that God promised to Abraham and were made rich with parting gifts in the process.

The Second Captivity: Babylon

This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. "But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt," declares the LORD, "and will make it desolate forever." (Jeremiah 25:11-12)

Notice the seventy year cycle. As I mentioned in 'Pentecost 2017', seventy years was often used to purify and sanctify God's people from sin. After King Cyrus of Persia allowed the Jewish people to leave and go back to Jerusalem, a partial return in unbelief was the result.

The Third Captivity: Worldwide

The prophet Ezekiel was given an odd task setting the stage for the rebirth of modern Israel in May of 1948:

"Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the house of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side. I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the house of Israel. "After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the house of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year. (Ezekiel 4:4-6)

So 390 days plus 40 days equals 430 years, seeing as one day symbolizes a year. Of those 430 years, 70 years was subtracted due to Israel's captivity in Babylon. That leaves us with 360 years of judgement. However, these years were multiplied by seven due to their unbelief:

If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over. (Leviticus 26:18)

If you remain hostile toward me and refuse to listen to me, I will multiply your afflictions seven times over, as your sins deserve. (Leviticus 26:21)

Those 360 years is now multiplied by a factor of seven. 360 x 7 = 2520 Biblical years (comprised of 360 days each). Divide 907, 200 days (2520 x 360 = 907,200) by 365.25 (the solar year to which we are accustomed) and you get 2,483.778 calendar years. So from 606 B.C. to the spring of 536 B.C. was seventy years of captivity under Babylonian rule. God's people then partially return in unbelief according to Cyrus' decree.

According to our logic, we add 2,483.8 calendar years to the year 536 B.C. (keeping in mind there was no year between 1 B.C. and 1 A.D.) we get:

May 14, 1948.

Israel's third captivity comes to a close and modern day Israel is reborn, exactly right on time.

The Greatest Lie Ever Told - Apr 21

If the greatest truths are about God, it stands to reason that the greatest lies we face also concern God.

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet

1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.

4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'

5"But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

8"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11"But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.

13"Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

14"For many are invited, but few are chosen."
(Matthew 22:1-14)

Let's see if we can figure out what this parable means.

The King: This one strikes me as obvious. This is God the Father. The son is none other than Jesus Himself.

The Invitees: The high muckity-mucks of this world. The 'beautiful' people if you will. In 21st century terms, they'd be the Hollywood celebrities and the political elite. Sadly, their businesses keep them away from God.

The Servants: This one is the most curious of them all. Three times the King sends forth His servants. These are three seperate and unique groups sent out in chronological order:

Verse 3: Those who served God faithfully prior to His First Advent such as the OT prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah.

Verse 4: God's people, the Jews. Don't you find verse 7 terrifying? Yet that's exactly what happened to Nazi Germany in the waning months of WW II (More specifically, think of the firebombing of Dresden). It was God's plan that it would be the Jewish people who were going to spread the gospel. Satan's great plan therefore is to rid the world of Jews because they delivered the gospel to humanity.

Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed." (Isaiah 61:9)

Verse 8-10: Seeing as European Jewry fared poorly, the third set of servants must be Gentiles. These are your pastors, your Sunday school teachers, and (blush) your faithful Christian bloggers.

The Guests: These lucky guests have chosen to accept Jesus Christ as their saviour. However in verses 11 and 12 the King confronts an usurper. Who is this person who has shown up in his old, shabby clothes?

Many Are Invited But Few Are Chosen

Thus verse 14 closes the parable. But we are still left with the question: What is the greatest lie ever told? It is this: We CANNOT stand before God based on our own righteousness. This is exactly what the usurper finds out when he is dramatically given the heave-ho. On the surface, this seems strange to us. After all, Jesus hung out with prostitutes and tax-collectors. Why is our King so enraged at our usurper not wearing the wedding clothes? It is the sin of pride. Not just any kind of pride mind you, it's religious pride.

For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10)

Not by our own efforts and by our works do we please Him. When we put on the garments of salvation and robes of righteousness it is only then we are allowed to enter into the banquet hall. By believing in the shed blood of Christ alone do we achieve full atonement.

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (Isaiah 64:6)

Judgement of a Divine Nature - Mar 16

This is the last part on my trilogy on judgement. Sorry for the delay in posting!

Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered.

When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. "How did the fig tree wither so quickly?" they asked.

Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matthew 21:18-21)

I think whenever we see a fig tree being used in scripture we must ask ourselves, 'Is this literal or figurative?'. Now I do believe that the fig tree that Matthew speaks of is quite literal. Jesus saw an actual fig tree, cursed it for its unproductivity and it did indeed wither on the spot. Yet when the disciples asked Him why did it wither so quickly, Jesus gives a mini-discourse on the importance of faith. Clearly, there is much more going on here than simple agriculture.

So What Is The Fig Tree Exactly?

Hard to say. Just prior to the cursing of the fig tree in Matthew 21 Jesus makes His triumphal entry on this very Palm Sunday. This raises all manner of commotion within the walls of Jerusalem. 'Hosanna in the highest!' the people shout while the Pharisees plot to kill Him on the Passover. Again, the order of the stories is not by accident. Jesus knows full well his cruel fate on the cross. It is precisely this rejection that seals Israel's fate:

He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:11-12)

So the fig tree is Israel isn't it? Well, not exactly. There is a divine order to God's redemption plan. Jesus the Messiah was presented to the Jews first whom they then rejected (v. 11). After that, the Gospel was presented to the Gentiles (v. 12). Jesus is therefore cursing ALL unbelief, not just from His own people.

Anti-Semitism and Replacement Theology

The church has never replaced the Abrahamic covenant. His relationship to His own people and their special attachment to the land of Israel is an everlasting one. All the leftist academics and Islamic scholars don't have a leg to stand on:

I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God. (Genesis 17:7)

It is nothing short of suicidal to declare otherwise. While He has interrupted and suspended it from time to time, God has never abrogated or nullified the Abrahamic covenant. God's love and faithfulness for His people has never ceased.

Wanna Become a Lightning Rod for the Wrath of God?

That's easy. Just keep cursing the Jews:

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. (Genesis 12:3)

Look at what the United Nations is doing! We who study scripture are saddened by all the vitrol hurled Israel's way. Yet none of us are truly surprised. Christians are called to believe that Jesus is the Messiah and to defend the veracity of scripture. Let us also never forget our obligation to the Jewish state. May Israel live forever!

Check out the rack of medals on this guy. While the American military tend to hand out service medals like they were Halloween candy, some of the medals here (click to enlarge) aren't exactly chump change. For defeating al-Qaida in the Land of the Two Rivers (and causing the Left to cry in their towels), General David Petraeus gets a sizeable laurel.

One Big Honking Dart to Czar Vlad


Does anybody out there still read TIME magazine? Being called TIME's 'Person of the Year' was once upon a time met with bated breath. Now it's met with a shrug and a yawn. While TIME insists that this is not an endorsement, Putin's Russia has become increasingly hostile towards freedom of the press, political freedoms and a top-down approach to the economy.

Being a Watchman Ain't Easy, but Somebody's Gotta Do It - Part II

Bloody 'ell, they're at it again. Shoddy, sounds-nice-feels-good theology divorced from Biblical truth is a constant thorn in the side for those who love Him. In Palestine, churches are resuscitating 'liberation theology', thereby reducing Christianity to some cheap political creed. The Biblical command to not forsake Israel should be in the heart of every Christian. By demonizing Israel as some kind of neo-Roman Empire is to stand on shaky ground. You'd also have to ignore half of the OT and much of the NT to come up with this wacky doctrine.

So are the Jews really that powerful? Yes they are. But not through deviousness or malice as the anti-semites love to tell it (or sell it if you prefer). All Jews with very few exceptions are literate and educated. Hard work and faith in a living God completes the three-legged stool of success.

You'd think this would somehow rub off on the Palestinians living beside the most dynamic people in the world. And of course you'd also be wrong in that assessment. The Palestinian economy is in shambles and human rights violations persist with the bloody infighting between Fatah and Hamas. This despite the fact that 'Palestine' is one of the biggest international welfare cases in the world.

Without security, accountability and transparency, foreign aid is wasted and grossly distorts the local economy. Having good people in the right places is crucial as well. The problem is of course, the places where foreign aid goes to has little in the way of security, accountability, transparency and moral leaders in high places. Foreign aid minus the proper oversight entrenches the corrupt and decreases the chance for a lasting peace. The worst thing we can do for Israel is to give the Palestinians hope that victory is imminent. By denying them aid and defeating the intifadah, Palestinians will get down to the mundane business of building a peaceful state for themselves. So Bono, please think about the unintended consequences of your socialist policies. Sometimes the best aid is no aid at all.

There's No Panic In Heaven - Dec 29

By now you've already heard the news out of Pakistan. As all the major news outlets have reported on the carnage, there's little point here in rehashing old news. Benazir Bhutto knew full well the dangers associated with her campaign. She also had many admirers as well. I sort of have to laugh at some of the over-the-top rhetoric being lauded on her. Bhutto was never going to be the 'bright shining light' of Pakistan, despite claims to the contrary. The Bhutto family was corrupt, made it policy to empower the Taliban and were key players in Pakistan's nuclear ambitions. She may have represented a new hope for Pakistan, but Benazir Bhutto was forever a flawed and imperfect ally.

Being a Watchman Ain't Easy, but Somebody's Gotta Do It

The pay stinks and the working conditions suck. So why do it? I suppose the answer is the eternal price of freedom is vigilance. The first group we have to watch for is the loony left. I've commented on their perfect record of failure before and it looks like there'll be no shorage of silliness to report on. As I see it, the left have two major talents that us conservative thinkers simply lack. Namely:

1) The uncanny ability to predict catastrophe after its already occurred and,

2) Giving a detailed, in-depth analysis of non-existent events.

Honestly, I'm jealous. Gifts like these aren't handed out like candy y'know. Take noted feminist and wild-eyed conspiracy theorist Naomi Wolf. The Bush years have not been good to Naomi I'm afraid.

As you may well know, I have a deep love for Israel and all those that choose to live peaceably within its borders. So when David Landau - the editor of Ha'aretz - told Condi Rice recently that he wanted to see Israel 'raped' for the cause of peace (at any cost apparently), I get a little worried. As Daniel Pipes notes:

(1) This appeal to an outside agency to pressure their own government is profoundly undemocratic.

(2) It is hard to imagine the intellectuals of any other state acting in like fashion.

When its Israel's sovereignty at stake, who cares right? It's all for the greater good we're told. Daniel (9:27) prophecied that Israel would make a covenant with death, an agreement with Hell (Isaiah 28:15). While the signatures on that future document will be distinctly Jewish, I doubt Israel will have a truly free choice in the matter.

A man of the people, even if Ann Coulter doesn't think so. Mike is a former pastor, and has used his easygoing oratory to charm friends and foes alike. Huckamania has caught on in Texas, earning the endorsement of the Dallas Morning News. Democracy in action, right? Well, not so fast. It appears that Huck is getting hostile attention from two groups, the godless secularists in the liberal media and the higher-ups in the Republican party. Both forces are anti-God and anti-America. Nor is there anything wrong with making the right kinds of enemies. Can a candidate who openly expresses his Christian faith and who's an outsider to Washington make it to the Oval Office? If Mike can't do it, John McCain is the next best choice. Both are mavericks in their own right and are bona fide threats to the establishment. Pray that God will protect these two men (along with all the other candidates) and guide America in its fateful decision.

It appears 2007 still has one month left to go. Time sure flies, does it not? Despite the passage of time however, there are more than a few things that remain constant. The battle for the hearts and minds of men and women are still being waged. The enemies of truth (and therefore God) are still active.

A Lump Of Coal To The Times

The New York Times has given up on any kind of credibility and have resorted to fairy tales. Most Americans are appalled at the amnesty that the Bush administration is offering to illegal immigrants. Yet to hear the liberal press caterwaul you'd think that this debate was very much touch and go. It isn't. Not even close. I'm not immigrant-bashing (though they don't get off scot free either) but the thing that should truly appall us how out of touch the Times have become. The MSM and the GOP may have stopped believing but most Americans still hold true to conservative principles.

Peace In Our Time? Not With These Jokers

Ah yes, the Annapolis conference. I mean, why do we bother? Only the naive and foolish place any hope in these confabs. I'm not referring to the average citizen. I'm referring to Condi Rice and a weak Ehud Olmert playing the fools. Islam cannot, nor will it ever accept a Jewish state in its midst. Israel is still allowed to exist mind you (no problem there), so long as its Jewish character is eliminated. Ooooh, how exciting! Throw the Jew under the bus and ME 'peace' will ensue! This will not do and should not be acceptable to any freedom-loving person.

Three Obstacles To Peace

The first casualty of war is truth. Indeed, making war whilst lying to the enemy go hand in hand. That principle has not changed today. The Islamic form of misinformation, called 'al-taqiyya', is still in tactical use. And make no mistake, WE are the enemy as far as Islam is concerned.

Too many useful idiots shilling for that 'Religion of Peace'. We need more apologists for terror like we need a knee to the groin. In other words, no thanks!

Upside-Down History Lessons: I wish that it was just the New York Times that was the only paper out of touch with the people and history. Sadly, that's not the case. Aren't you supposed to do some research or something before you write? Do you think I type out impulsively whatever pops into my head at any given moment? No! By my own admission I am a perfectionist. Links are read from top to bottom and all words are carefully considered. Yet these basic principles of journalism seem to evade us when dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The fact that deadlines have to be met is no excuse for shoddy reporting.

So much data yet so few facts. It is a supreme irony in this modern age. No wonder people have turned to the internet (and bloggers) for their daily dose of geopolitics!

Iran, Iran So Far Away!

Should it surprise you that I find the people and country of Iran fascinating? It is Iran, and not Iraq, which has the greatest potential for democracy in the region. A fact which no doubt has not escaped the attention of the mad mullahs who rule. Why is there so little compassion and intellectual advancement in totalitarian societies? Because the people are afraid. Remove that fear and compassion and freedom will flow like a river. One of the toughest jobs in Iran is to be a journalist or a blogger critical of the regime. And a regime it is in every sense of the word. Calling Iran's leaders a 'government' is being far too kind.

The Red Horse of the Apocalypse

Which nicely segues into the next question: What would happen in an Iran-Israeli nuclear exchange? It would likely be Iran, and not Israel, that would be the worst off in such a nightmare scenario. Consider the following:

1) Israeli first responders are second to none. They have a wealth of experience to draw from when dealing with mass casualty attacks. I doubt the Iranians have the same capabilities.

2) Iran's maximum yield would be 100 kilotons (possibly by 2010), whereas Israel's current yield is in the one megaton range. The radiation fallout from an airburst of a one megaton bomb can kill unsheltered people up to 80 miles within 18 hours from the radiation plume drifts.

3) Iran would have 30 nuclear warheads by 2010 and would aim for the main population centers of Tel Aviv and Haifa. Israel has more than 200 warheads at its disposal and far better delivery systems, including cruise missiles launched from its 3 Dolphin-class submarines.

4) Iran's capital Tehran is home to 15 million people. Located in a topographic basin surrounded by mountain reflectors, it represents a nearly perfect nuclear killing ground.

5) Lastly, not only would Jordan receive fallout from a strike on Tel Aviv, the Israelis would also retain a reserve nuclear strike capability. Say goodbye to Syria and Egypt!

God: The Same Yesterday, Today and Forever

Yet there is still hope. I'm what you would call a cynical optimist. My cynicism is based on what Man can do. My optimism is based on what God can do. Seeing as God is greater, what have I to fear? Thankfully my optimism outweighs my cynicism. As I like to leave my post on a positive note, here are three items to lift the burdened soul:

On September the 11th, 2007 something miraculous happened in China. The Amity Printing Company in Nanjing printed its 50,000,000th Bible. You read correctly. FIFTY MILLION. And that's only since 1987. Six years after America's worst terrorist attack God is still in the business of changing lives.

Not only in China, but the ME as well. The number of new Christians in the world each year surpasses that of new Muslims, with the major growth for Protestants coming through conversion. It is Christianity, and not Islam, that is the world's fastest growing religion. The battle is surely being won. Praise God!

Let he who is thirsty come and drink freely the water of life: In India, a 'Jesus well' is bringing tremendous growth to a local ministry.

Delusion and Paranoia - Sep 24

Of course it isn't paranoid if they really are out to get you. Not me personally mind you, it just seems that there's a lot of fear and loathing making the rounds recently. I've been getting a few off the wall comments in the past few days. One I rejected (which I talked about earlier) and two more which I have published. I always get a kick out of these loons who wish to lecture me and show me the error of my ways. One even suggested I get baptised and repent of my sins! It's almost comical I tell ya. I guess that's because I refuse to call Dick Cheney 'Darth Vader' or make Bush out to be evil incarnate. Deeply flawed and foolish Bush is, but W ain't pure evil. Anyways, do keep those comments coming and check back as I might leave a comment to counter yours. Here are three things to remember:

Here's something that got my attention recently. World Qods Day falls on October 12th, which is the last Friday of Ramadan. The Iranians have promised a 'surprise' for the West. I'm guessing it won't be a pleasant one. I have to admit I'm intrigued by this. That big kidder Mahmoud could be blowing smoke here. Or not. Either way, Iran definitely carries the capability of doing something incredibly destructive and foolish. Is this the Gog and Magog invasion of Ezekiel 38 and 39? Hard to tell. I'm not in the business of making grand prophetic announcements so I'll sit tight and watch that date carefully.

Fight And Kill The Occupiers - Sep 9

I hope all you young 'uns are back in school safely. For some university or college students their classes don't start until tomorrow. Here in Brampton the humidity has left and some cool wet weather has taken its place. Yep, it must be fall! I also want to extend my condolensces to Faith Girl as her paternal grandmother has recently passed away. The funeral was today in Newmarket. She's also promised me a new post sometime this month about her loss. I'd also like to thank you for your patience. As I've indicated before, new posts will happen weekly as opposed to semi-weekly unless the moment strikes me.

We've got lots of stuff to cover so let's get to it.

As Daniel Pipes has found out, CAIR will stop at nothing to smear all those who oppose them. I don't think they even care if the false accusation sticks. So long as the object of their hate ends up wasting both their time and money defending themselves the purpose is served. Such is the amoral state that Islam produces.

Am I being to harsh with Muslims here? Am I biased or even 'Islamophobic'? I don't think so. Judging from the e-mails I get every day the litany of illegal activities that Muslim specifically perpetrate grows. It's not that people of other belief systems don't commit foul deeds. They do, but their actions consistently pale in comparison as to what is committed in the service of Allah's religion. Nor do you have to look far and wide for such indescretions (putting it mildly). In Sderot, Israel, a day care centre becomes the target of an errant Kassam rocket. Two women are beheaded in Pakistan due to alleged 'immoral' (read: sexual) activities. I don't care if these two were the biggest whores in all of Pakistan. No woman deserves such a fate. The concept of cruel and unusual punishment is void in Sharia law. Also, fifth column Muslims are encouraged to murder infidel gov't figures. From MEMRI comes this little nugget:

Iran shows its contempt for America in its interference over Iraq. If America wants to negotiate with the Muslim realm, that's fine. But should you negotiate, you must do so from a position of strength, otherwise forget it. Whether one bomb is dropped or a hundred, the reaction from the Iranians will be the same. Is the West ready for such a strong reaction? I doubt it.

Finally, doesn't the concept of abrogation within Islam bother you a wee bit? If God is holy, unchanging and consistent in His ways, why should He nullify even one of His teachings? A look at both the NT and OT confirms this. That which was laid as a foundation in the OT is built upon in the NT. No such abrogation there! Jesus came to fulfill the law, not to do away with it! The only other possible conclusion to make is that the Koran did not come from God. Allah is not Jehovah. Never was and never will be.

But We've Got The Biggest Balls Of Them All! - Sep 1

With apologies to the late great Bon Scott of AC/DC. Hope everyone is enjoying the last long summer weekend of 2007. Yep, '07 is two-thirds done. So glad I'm not facing school anymore. Next work week will be just like any other, except shorter. Anyways, I'm not going to do a long preamble so let's get right to it.

Take a good long look at this football. Various flags of different countries are displayed with the Saudi Arabian flag featured most prominently. Note the sword and the Arabic lettering. This is the shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith. The Israeli Star of David is seen along with the Danish cross and the Davidic star and cross of Northern Ireland. All Judeo-Christian symbols the Muslims despise. How offensive is this nondescript football? Very, according to recent attempts to drop soccer balls for Afghani children. A big hullaballoo was created and the 'good dhimmi' apology was promptly issued. I think this particular ball is an earlier one, made for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Honestly, what gives with these guys? Shredding Bibles in KSA and we don't even blink. An infidel touches one of their demonically inspired Korans and riots ensue. All of which renders me totally indifferent to Muslim sensibilities. I just simply couldn't care less. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference.


I know people love to eviscerate Bush and the Americans for their snubbing of the Kyoto Protocol. But it appears that China is taking over as the world's worst polluter. There is a huge difference in how the two countries operate. American pollution is a result of it's sheer size. Chinese pollution is a result of unrestrained growth without due regard to the end product. Speaking of the UN, Iran is tapped to be a member of the planning committee of the 2009 UN World Conference Against Racism. The ugliness will become apparent very quickly. It will be more like a conference against Zionism like what happened in Durban, South Africa. It must be repeated that all hatred of the Jews is supernatural (Satanic) in its origins. I cannot emphasize this point enough. Either you understand it or you don't.

I don't think there are many here in the West who fully realize the extent that Iran poses. Recent talks with the U.S. over the fate of Iraq have ended leading to animosity between the two. The Iranians are active in their support of the Taliban in Afghanistan where Canadian troops are stationed. Should the Democrats ride the wave of discontent all the way to the Oval Office, there's ample reason to believe that Iraq will cynically be abandoned out of political expediency. This is a very serious situation. Whoever gets the ring in November '08 cannot ignore Iraq. When presidents look towards the ME they look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Whilst tragic in its continual spilling of innocent blood, it is for the most part self-contained and predictable. All these political assumptions miss the point. Look, comprehending the ME isn't difficult. What you need to know is that there are two wars being waged parallel to one another. The 1400 year-old civil war between the Sunni and the Shia is the first one. The jihad that Islam (Dar al-Islam) is waging against the West (Dar al-Harb) is the second. What we see in Iraq right now is both these concurrent wars in microcosm. As bad as Bush has bungled the Iraqi war, things could (and likely will) get worse. I cannot shake this feeling that once the American troops pull out (along with the Canadians possibly leaving Afghanistan by 2009) things will deteriorate rapidly. Our gov'ts ought to be prepared for this and it's painfully obvious that they're not. Just as the Bible prophecied it must come to pass.

Regaining Biblical Courage and Zeal - Aug 19

We need, more than ever, brave people who will stand up for God. We need young people who will show a zeal for truth and supernatural understanding. So why do so many bash Christianity yet remain cowed by Islam? I'll tell you why. It costs nothing to drag the church and the Bible through the mud. They do this for two reasons: One, Christians do not (for the most part) make the murder of their enemies a priority. Two, facing an enemy that can actually fight back terrifies them. The s-p's have to obsess about Christianity because they cannot stop obsessing about Christianity. Their entire MO is based on an irrational fear of Bible-believing Christians. Again, there's no point discussing this with them. No amount of reason or corroborative evidence can budge them from their position. We cannot allow ourselves to be discouraged by this. Despite the fact that we are outmanned and outgunned, we must be good soldiers for Christ. We must defend our ground and be prepared to endure, to sacrifice, to pay the price and even die for Jesus Christ if called upon. Are you up for the task? Are you part of Gideon's army that was ready to do battle? Will you claim victory over the forces of darkness?

At the end of the day, it is only through God's grace that we have our rights and freedoms that protect us, and not by the hands of our government.

Kudos to Ryan at Zionist.com for giving me the title of my post. I wanted to post about some important military matters but was lacking for a title. Now I've found one.

When I was a student at McMaster, the air was thick with PC. That was in 1993. I imagine it would be worse now. I was lucky I suppose in that I studied the sciences so I was sheltered from the more extreme leftist elements on campus. This was before I joined the CF and became a Christian so I really was a sheep amongst the wolves. Now I was exposed to some of it of course, indeed how could you not? But I think God was saving me for something bigger than campus politics, though I was unaware of His grace at the time. I would venture to say that pretty much all of the political stuff taking place on campuses today is predatory in nature. A young person not rooted in Biblical truth and lacking in confidence is the perfect target for these ideological scumbags. I thank God that I was delivered from the quagmire that was McMaster University with something to show for it.

So I relate this personal narrative to show you the opposition to a Biblical worldview. God help that individual that is dumb enought to challenges the profs on his or her views. I think these academic hacks teach all the wrong lessons to these young adults. Critical analysis is thrown out in favor of some type of messianic ideological purity. And whether it be anti-Israeli sentiment or the radical feminists (including the feminization of our military), it is absolute murder trying to swim against the ideological stream.

If you want genuine real courage, the Bible has the answers you're looking for. People like Joseph, Gideon, Moses, Joshua, David, Paul and Peter provide for us insight into a warrior's mindset. These were real people who struggled as we do today. Parents, the best thing you can do for your kids is to get them to read, memorize and understand God's word. Hoping for some form of divine luck to guard your son or daughter is downright dangerous. What we have to do for ourselves is our responsibility, not God's. Equip your kids. Teach them and train them in the ways of God early in their lives and they will not depart from them.

Therefore Watch And Be Sober! - Jul 29

Couldn't resist this one. There's a lot going on in the United States over this John Doe protection legislation. If free speech is threatened in America, free speech in Canada or Britain will surely fall. I'm sick to death of every Muslim advocacy group screaming 'Islamaphobe' everytime someone reports illegal activity concerning one of their brethen. Having a discerning attitude towards Muslims and Islam in general does not an Islamaphobe make.


The thinking towards the poorly-named 'War on Terror' (terrorism is a tactic, not an end unto itself) baffles me. 'Bush started this war' is the prevailing wisdom today. Most would certainly reverse the cartoon. But I think the Cox and Forkum cartoon below is in fact, correct. If anything, appeasement and half-measures are the order of the day as far as the West is concerned. Things are not going well in Iraq. In lieu of actual wisdom anti-semitism becomes a convenient fall back position. Making sweeping accusations whilst quoting unnamed (or non-existent) sources represents the heighth of corruption and intellectual laziness. Syria stonewalls us in the Rafik al-Hariri assassination and makes preparation for war with Israel. Our response? Tepidity and weakness. Islamic santioned slavery persists in Sudan and we refuse to call their bluff. The topper? A $20bn arms sale to the Saudis. The West selling their non-military goods to Muslim countries is one thing. Enabling their jihad against us is another. Unscrupulous, foolish and short-sighted is any arms sale to a Muslim nation.

A Reason To Be Vigilant - Jul 21

I love a woman in uniform (the one to the left I mean). Actually, I feel for the female bobby in this picture. The picture of grace under pressure. There would be no such restraint if it was the other way 'round. Count on it. Full story can be found here.


Someone once said that vigilance is the eternal price of freedom. Seems to me we have collectively forgotten the price we have to pay in order to remain that way. Everything comes with a cost. Salvation through Jesus Christ comes with a cost (the world will hate you). Being free costs you (tyrants will hate you). We are seeing today the slow yet ongoing self-destruction of Western civilization. Our enemies are willing to fight us and die for their cause. Are we willing to fight back? From Jihadi du Jour the words of the late (and current resident of Hell) Ayatollah Khomeini:

The Islamists are training their children to be ready for jihad as well. We are talking about real young 'uns here. As soon as they're born the indoctrination to hate Jews and non-Muslims begins. To the West's credit, this is a topic that has come to their attention yet the likes of Hamas TV still show anti-semitic propaganda with little consequence. Unlike in Canada where fortunately this sort of thing is frowned upon.

Don't Get Me Started: An X-Def Rant.

Freedom of speech is not, nor was it ever intended to be, carte blanche. It does not give you the right to incite violence or call for the deaths of specific individuals or groups. It doesn't cover libel (the making of false accusations) either. These Islamist groups use and abuse, pervert and twist the meaning of freedom of expression. I for one do not favor the censoring of these supremacists. If it wakes people up to the fifth column in our midst then I'm all for it. However, we should not be afraid to call their bluff! This is true of anyone who makes a questionable statement, be it written or oral. Freedom of speech is NOT an absolute! I am absolutely convinced that most people do not understand this fundamental point. The whole point of FOS is to protect whistleblowers (who, acting in good faith) from malicious prosecution. This persecution can come from well-funded NGO's (such as CAIR) or from their own gov't. When working Joes see suspicious activity or hear incitement to violence they have every right to report it to the police or petition their gov't without fear of backlash. The Left has never understood this. FOS was never meant to be an enabler of some kind of ideological crusade. Instead, they wield freedom of speech as a weapon to bludgeon all those who don't support their militant humanist secular-progressive POV. Then when someone has the chutzpah to fight back at such scandalous and libelous behaviour the Left (or the Islamists) hide under the skirt of 'freedom of expression'. Cowards they are. For them to try to substantiate and defend in court any one of their baseless claims terrifies them. I think this is what separates America from the rest of the world. Americans are not afraid to air their dirty laundry in public. This does not weaken them, on the contrary it has made America the freest country on Earth. Americans recognize that when secrecy rules, liberty dies. Freedom is precious. Let us never be complacent against those who wish to destroy it.
