Nation Shall Rise Against Nation - Oct 2

Seems appropiate to get October on the right foot with some good old firebrand prophecy. Here is Jesus Christ speaking on the Mount of Olives (hence the name Olivet Discourse) about the last days:

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
(Matthew 24 : 6-8)

In Pennsylvania, there's been a shooting at an Amish school. A picture gallery follows here.

New World Odor Dep't: While we look back at Kofi Annan's troubled tenure as UN Secretary-General, South Korean Ban Ki-moon looks to assume the helm. Don't look now, but we are moving towards global gun control and global media control as well.

In Israel news, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas might be planning a coup against Hamas' Ismail Haniyeh. Israel is also seeing the UN's true colors as the IDF withdraws its forces from Lebanon. Seems the only way Israel can earn applause from the international community is when it's going backwards. Speaking of Lebanon, there are talks of a civil war brewing amongst factions of Hezbollah. Not happy times over there at all, I'd say.

Thin Edge of the Wedge Dep't: In Egypt, university professor Hassan Hanafi has made the brilliant discovery that Allah is slightly on the despotic side. You don't say! As well, see this 9-minute video (in English) of the very brave and courageous Wafa Sultan.

Here are four items concerning that 'Religion of Peace' that crossed my desk today:

The UN's hypocrisy knows no bounds. While Israel was putting up its security wall amidst howls of protest, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is now doing the same to its northern border with Iraq. Not surprisingly, no word from the Secretary-General on this recent development.

Just when you thought we hit a new low, some story comes along and sets a new standard. An injured British Para was accosted on his hospital bed by a Muslim male who did not think highly of his services. Bloody hell, where's the security for these guys?

Christmas is only three months away! Here's a very thoughtful gift to give to your local friendly mosque (if you dare!). From Michelle Malkin's blog.

From the Philly Inquirer comes this remarkable op-ed that is a must-read.

And just cause I can't resist, here are some strange and wonderful matchups between male athletes and Hollywood babes that make the Tie Domi/Belinda Stronach hookup benign by comparison.
